1. Introduction
FloatPrompt ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the FloatPrompt mobile application ("the App").
2. Data Collection
Local Storage (all users)
- Scripts you create are stored locally on your device in an encrypted local database.
- Video recordings are saved locally to your device's Gallery.
- We do not transmit any of your scripts, recordings, or personal files to external servers unless you explicitly enable Cloud Sync.
Cloud Sync (optional, Pro feature)
- If you sign in with Google and enable Cloud Sync, your scripts are stored in Firebase Firestore under your Google account UID.
- Cloud Sync is disabled by default and requires an active Pro subscription.
- Synced data includes: script title, content, folder name, scroll speed, font size, mirror setting, and last modified timestamp.
- Disabling Cloud Sync does not delete your cloud data. Use "Delete Account" in Settings to permanently remove all cloud-stored scripts.
Authentication
- If you choose to sign in, we use Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. Google collects your name, email address, and profile photo according to Google's Privacy Policy.
- We store only your Firebase UID internally. We do not store your Google email or profile photo on our servers.
3. Permissions
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay): Used to display the teleprompter script over other applications when you activate the floating overlay.
- Camera / Microphone: Used only when you actively choose to record a video within the App. Camera recording is a Pro feature.
- These permissions are only activated with your explicit action and are not used in the background.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
a) Google Firebase
- Firebase Authentication: Handles Google Sign-In. Collects your Google account identifier (UID), display name, and profile photo.
- Cloud Firestore: Stores your scripts when Cloud Sync is enabled. Data is stored under your Firebase UID.
- Firebase's privacy practices: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
b) Google Play Billing
- We use Google Play Billing Library to manage Pro subscription purchases. Google handles payment processing and does not share your payment details with us.
- We receive only your subscription status (active/inactive) from Google Play. We do not receive your name, email, or payment information.
For more information about how Google uses data from apps that use their services, please visit: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
5. Data Sharing
- We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
- We do not share your scripts, recordings, or personal data with any third party.
- Data processed by Firebase (authentication and Firestore) is handled according to Google's privacy policies linked above.
6. Children's Privacy
- This App is not directed at children under the age of 13.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to remove it.
7. Data Retention
- Local data: All user-generated content (scripts, recordings) is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data.
- Cloud data: If Cloud Sync is enabled, your scripts are retained in Firebase Firestore until you delete them or delete your account.
- Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time via Settings > Cloud > Delete Account. This will remove your Firebase authentication, all scripts stored in Firestore, and disable Cloud Sync. This action cannot be undone.
